In 2014, Jyothula Nehru of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Jyothula Chanti Babu @ Naga Veera Venkata Vishnu Satya Marthandarao of TDP by a margin of 15,932 votes which was 9.59% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Thota Narasimham of INC won this seat defeating Jyothula Nehru of PRAP by a margin of 789 votes which was 0.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
