In 2014, Bandaru Madhava Naidu of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Kothapalli Subbarayudu (Pedababu) of YSRCP by a margin of 21,712 votes which was 16.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Mudunuri Prasada Raju of INC won this seat defeating Kothapalli Subbarayudu (Peda Babu) of PRAP by a margin of 17,325 votes which was 14.95% of the total votes polled for the seat.
