In 2014, Eswari Giddi of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Goddeti Demudu of CPI by a margin of 26,141 votes which was 20.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pasupuleti Balaraju of INC won this seat defeating Goddeti Demudu of CPI by a margin of 587 votes which was 0.53% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Bhagya Lakshmi Kottagulli of YSRCP had a vote share of 50.6% in this seat. In 2014, Eswari Giddi of YSRCP secured a vote share of 40.97% in this constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pasupuleti Balaraju of INC got a vote share of 32.4% in Paderu.
