In 2014, Gowru Charitha Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Katasani Rama Bhupal Reddy of SDLPI by a margin of 11,647 votes which was 5.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Katasani Ramabhupal Reddy of INC won this seat defeating Byreddy Rajasekher Reddy of TDP by a margin of 8,914 votes which was 5.73% of the total votes polled for the seat.
