In the 2009 Assembly elections, Prabhakara Rao Tangirala of TDP won this seat defeating Parameswara Rao Velpula of INC by a margin of 5,171 votes which was 3.7% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Monditoka Jagan Mohana Rao of YSRCP had a vote share of 51.32% in this seat. In 2014, Thangirala Prabhakara Rao of TDP secured a vote share of 50.01% in this constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Prabhakara Rao Tangirala of TDP got a vote share of 43.32% in Nandigama.
