    In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Vidya Sagar Keshari of BJP won in this constituency beating Zakir Hussain Khan of INC by a margin of 19702 votes which was 9.55% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Vidya Sagar Keshri of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Krityanand Biswas of RJD by a margin of 25238 votes which was 13.57% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
