Rania shares its borders with four other Assembly constituencies. Other Haryana Assembly constituencies adjacent to Rania are: Kalanwali, Dabwali, Sirsa, Ellenabad. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Rajasthan.

In the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, Ranjit Singh of IND won in this constituency beating Gobind Kanda of HaLP by a margin of 19,431 votes which was 13.53% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ram Chand Kamboj of INLD was the winner in this seat beating Gobind Kanda of HaLP by a margin of 4,315 votes which was 3% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Krishan Lal S/O Ram Chand of INLD won this seat defeating Ranjit Singh of INC by a margin of 3,651 votes which was 3.01% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, Ranjit Singh of IND had a vote share of 37.48% in this seat. In 2014, Ram Chand Kamboj of INLD secured a vote share of 30.62% in this constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Krishan Lal S/O Ram Chand of INLD got a vote share of 39.73% in Rania.
