This constituency shares an inter-state border with Delhi, Rajasthan.

In 2014, Tejpal Tawar of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Kishore Yadav of INLD by a margin of 24,547 votes which was 16.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dharambir of INC won this seat defeating Zakir Hussain of BSP by a margin of 505 votes which was 0.44% of the total votes polled for the seat.
