      Irikkur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Kannur district in the Malabar region of Kerala: Chengalayi, Eruvessy, Irikkur, Payyavoor, Sreekandapuram, Alakode, Naduvil, Udayagiri and Ulikkal Panchayats in Taliparamba Taluk.

      This constituency covers an approximate area of 594 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Irikkur is: 12°07'23.2"N 75°31'31.1"E.

      In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Adv Sajeev Joseph of INC won in this constituency beating Saji Kuttiyanimattam of KCM by a margin of 10010 votes which was 6.58% of the total votes cast. In 2016, K C Joseph of INC was the winner in this seat beating K T Jose of CPI by a margin of 9647 votes which was 6.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K. C. Joseph of INC won this seat defeating Adv. P. Santhosh Kumar of CPI by a margin of 11757 votes which was 9% of the total votes polled for the seat.
