This constituency covers an approximate area of 537 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Peravoor is: 11°57'45.4"N 75°45'52.9"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 78.07%, while it was 81.05% in 2016, and 80.03% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Adv Sunny Joseph of INC won in this constituency beating K V Sakkeer Hussain of CPIM by a margin of 3172 votes which was 2.24% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Adv. Sunny Joseph of INC was the winner in this seat beating Adv. Binoy Kurian of CPIM by a margin of 7989 votes which was 5.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Adv.Sunny Joseph of INC won this seat defeating K.K.Shailaja Teacher of CPIM by a margin of 3440 votes which was 2.94% of the total votes polled for the seat.
