This constituency covers an approximate area of 199 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Thiruvalla is: 9°24'09.0"N 76°35'58.9"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 63.34%, while it was 69.23% in 2016, and 65.33% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Adv Mathew T Thomas of JDS won in this constituency beating Kunju Koshy Paul of KEC by a margin of 11421 votes which was 8.22% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Adv.Mathew T Thomas of JDS was the winner in this seat beating Joseph M Puthussery of KCM by a margin of 8262 votes which was 5.72% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
