    Demographic profile

    There were a total of 3,01,743 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Kolhapur North Assembly constituency, of which 1,48,809 were male, 1,52,916 female and 18 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,86,265 registered voters, of which 1,43,264 were male, 1,42,997 female and 4 from the third gender.     This constituency covers an approximate area of 31.59 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 16°43'32.9"N 74°14'51.7"E.

    A total of six Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Kolhapur North constituency, which are: Kolhapur South, Kagal, Radhanagari, Karvir, Kolhapur North, Hatkanangle. This constituency shares an inter-state border with .

    In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Chandrakant Pandit Jadhav of INC won in this constituency beating Rajesh Vinayak Kshirsagar of SS by a margin of 14,960 votes which was 08.54% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Rajesh Vinayakrao Kshirsagar of SS was the winner in this seat beating Kadam Satyajit Shivajirao of INC by a margin of 22,421 votes which was 12.77% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Rajesh Vinayakrao Kshirsagar of SS won this seat defeating Chhatrapati Malojiraje Shahu of INC by a margin of 3,687 votes which was 2.42% of the total votes polled for the seat.
