    In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Pratap Jena of BJD won in this constituency beating Sarada Prasad Padhan of BJP by a margin of 29,585 votes which was 14.82% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pratap Jena of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Sarada Prasad Padhan of IND by a margin of 27,874 votes which was 15.36% of the total votes polled in the constituency.
