In 2014, Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Padmalochan Panda of INC by a margin of 7,937 votes which was 5.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Parsuram Panigrahi of BJD won this seat defeating Padmalochan Panda of INC by a margin of 10,927 votes which was 8.24% of the total votes polled for the seat.
