    This constituency covers an approximate area of 1 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Avadi is: 13°07'35.8"N 80°05'19.0"E.

    In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Nasar S M of DMK won in this constituency beating Pandiarajan K of AIADMK by a margin of 55275 votes which was 18.51% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Pandia Rajan K of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Nasar S M of DMK by a margin of 1395 votes which was 0.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Abdul Rahim.S of AIADMK won this seat defeating Dhamotharan.R of INC by a margin of 43238 votes which was 21.67% of the total votes polled for the seat.
