    In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Dhanapal P of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Athiyamaan Raju of DMK by a margin of 50902 votes which was 24.21% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Dhanapal P of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Anandhan E of DMK by a margin of 30674 votes which was 15.81% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Karuppasamy.M.A. of AIADMK won this seat defeating Natarajan.A.R. of INC by a margin of 61411 votes which was 39.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
