According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 60.69%, while it was 62.59% in 2016, and 71.59% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Vanathi Srinivasan of BJP won in this constituency beating Kamal Haasan of MNM by a margin of 1728 votes which was 1.12% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Arjunan @ Amman Arjunan,K. of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Mayura Jayakumar,S. of INC by a margin of 17419 votes which was 11.35% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Doraiswamy R Alias Challenger Dorai of AIADMK won this seat defeating Pongalur Palanisamy N of DMK by a margin of 27796 votes which was 19.4% of the total votes polled for the seat.
