In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Sengottaiyan K A of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Manimaran G V of DMK by a margin of 28563 votes which was 13.41% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sengottaiyan K.A of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Saravanan S.V of INC by a margin of 11223 votes which was 5.48% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sengottaiyan K.A of AIADMK won this seat defeating Sivaraj.N.S of KNMK by a margin of 41912 votes which was 24.06% of the total votes polled for the seat.
