According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 80.36%, while it was 84.81% in 2016, and 86.44% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Saravanan P S T of DMK won in this constituency beating Panneerselvam V of AIADMK by a margin of 9222 votes which was 4.73% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Panneerselvam V of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Kumar G of INC by a margin of 26414 votes which was 14.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Agri.Krishnamurti.S.S of AIADMK won this seat defeating Vijayakumar.P.S of INC by a margin of 38234 votes which was 24.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Saravanan P S T of DMK had a vote share of 48.31% in this seat. In the 2016 Assembly elections, Panneerselvam V of AIADMK got a vote share of 45.41% , In the 2011 Assembly elections, Agri.Krishnamurti.S.S of AIADMK got a vote share of 58.95% in Kalasapakkam.
