In 2015, Dr Mohammad Jawaid of INC was the winner in this seat beating Sweety Singh of BJP by a margin of 8609 votes which was 5.02% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Dr Mohammad Jawaid of INC won this seat defeating of BJP by a margin of 264 votes which was 0.21% of the total votes polled for the seat.
