In 2014, Bimla Chaudhary of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Ganga Ram of INLD by a margin of 38,963 votes which was 29.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ganga Ram of INLD won this seat defeating Bhupinder of INC by a margin of 24,747 votes which was 25.82% of the total votes polled for the seat.
