In 2014, Shyam Singh of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Raj Kumar Bubka of INLD by a margin of 38,707 votes which was 26.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dr Bishan Lal Saini of INLD won this seat defeating Suresh Kumar of INC by a margin of 4,395 votes which was 3.82% of the total votes polled for the seat.
