    This constituency covers an approximate area of 1070.33 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 24°47'25.1"N 87°24'47.2"E.

    In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Hemant Soren of JMM won in this constituency beating Simon Malto of BJP by a margin of 25,740 votes which was 18.68% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Hemant Soren of JMM was the winner in this seat beating Hemlal Murmu of BJP by a margin of 24,087 votes which was 17.79% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Hemlal Murmu of JMM won this seat defeating Vijay Hansdak of IND by a margin of 20,318 votes which was 20.03% of the total votes polled for the seat.
