In 2014, Narayan Das of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Suresh Paswan of RJD by a margin of 45,152 votes which was 20.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Suresh Paswan of RJD won this seat defeating Baldeo Das of JVM by a margin of 17,740 votes which was 13.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
