    There were a total of 2,48,753 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Ghatsila Assembly constituency, of which 1,22,457 were male, 1,26,294 female and 2 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,42,798 registered voters, of which 1,21,154 were male, 1,21,643 female and 1 from the third gender.     Assembly constituency no.45. Ghatsila comprises of the following areas of East Singhbhum district in the South Jharkhand region of Jharkhand: Ghatsila police station and Musabani police station (excluding Gram Panchayats Palasbani, Asta Koyali, Nunia, Kumarasol, Barakanjiya, Bomaro Bangoriya and Darrudih) in Dhalbhum sub-division.

    This constituency covers an approximate area of 928.87 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 22°33'47.2"N 86°29'02.8"E.

    A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Jharkhand share borders with Ghatsila constituency, which are: Baharagora, Potka, Jugsalai. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Purulia and Jhargram districts of West Bengal, Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.

    Voter turnout

    According to data released by the Election Commission of India, in the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections, the estimated voter turnout in this Jharkhand constituency was 75.83%. In 2019, this seat registered a turnout of 70.37%, while it was 69.26% in 2014 and 64% in 2009. The estimated turnout in 2024 was -5.46% compared to the 2019 turnout.

    Victory margin

    In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Ramdas Soren of JMM won in this constituency beating Lakhan Chandra Mardi of BJP by a margin of 6,724 votes which was 03.95% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Lakshman Tudu of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Ramdas Soren of JMM by a margin of 6,403 votes which was 3.96% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ramdas Soren of JMM won this seat defeating Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu of INC by a margin of 1,192 votes which was 0.94% of the total votes polled for the seat.
