    There were a total of 3,14,100 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Poreyahat Assembly constituency, of which 1,59,534 were male, 1,54,564 female and 2 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,74,662 registered voters, of which 1,40,954 were male, 1,33,706 female and 2 from the third gender. Poreyahat comprises of the following areas of Godda district in the Santhal Parganas region of Jharkhand: Poreyahat police station and Gram Panchayats Burhikura, Dammajhilua, Sandmara, Nonbatta, Makhni, Pathra and Punsiya in Godda police station in Godda sub-division; and Saraiyahat police station in Dumka Sadar sub-division.

    This constituency covers an approximate area of 900.87 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 24°41'03.1"N 87°13'27.1"E.

    A total of five Assembly constituencies in the state of Jharkhand share borders with Poreyahat constituency, which are: Godda, Barhait, Jama, Jarmundi, Deoghar. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Banka district of Bihar.

    According to data released by the Election Commission of India, in the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections, the estimated voter turnout in this Jharkhand constituency was 69.67%.     In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Pradeep Yadav of JVM won in this constituency beating Gajadhar Singh of BJP by a margin of 13,597 votes which was 07.21% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pradip Yadav of JVM was the winner in this seat beating Devendranath Singh of BJP by a margin of 11,158 votes which was 6.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pradip Yadav of JVM won this seat defeating Suraj Mandal of JMM by a margin of 36,704 votes which was 26.35% of the total votes polled for the seat.
