    This constituency covers an approximate area of 728.5 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 24°10'32.9"N 86°52'56.6"E.

    In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Randhir Kumar Singh of BJP won in this constituency beating Uday Shankar Singh of JVM by a margin of 28,720 votes which was 13.43% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Randhir Kumar Singh of JVM was the winner in this seat beating Uday Shankar Singh of BJP by a margin of 13,901 votes which was 7.49% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Sasank Shekhar Bhokta of JMM won this seat defeating Uday Shankar Singh of INC by a margin of 9,420 votes which was 6.95% of the total votes polled for the seat.
