    In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Adv A M Ariff of CPIM won in this seat defeating Adv Shanimol Osman of INC by a margin of 10,474 votes which was 0.96% of the total votes cast for the seat. CPIM had a vote share of 40.91% in 2019 in this seat.

    In 2014, K C Venugopal of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating C B Chandrababu of CPM by a margin of 19,407 votes which was 1.95% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC secured a vote share of 46.37% in the seat.
