    In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, K Muraleedharan of INC won in this seat defeating P Jayarajan of CPIM by a margin of 84,663 votes which was 7.94% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 49.42% in 2019 in this seat.

    In 2014, Mullappally Ramachandran of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating AdvANShamseer of CPM by a margin of 3,306 votes which was 0.34% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC secured a vote share of 43.41% in the seat.
