In 2014, P V Midhun Reddy of YSRCP emerged victorious in this seat beating D Purandeswari of BJP by a margin of 1,74,762 votes which was 15.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. YSRCP secured a vote share of 51.95% in the seat.
