In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Dr Govind Singh of INC won in this seat defeating Rasal Singh of BJP by a margin of 9,073 which was 5.86% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 40.11% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Dr Govind Singh of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Rasal Singh of BJP by a margin of 6,273 votes which was 4.33% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 36.6% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Govind Singh of INC won this seat beating Romesh Mahant of BSP by a margin of 4,878 votes which was 3.86% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BSP had a vote share of 45.69% in the seat.
