    In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Shyam Lal Dwivedi of BJP won in this seat defeating Ramashankar Singh of INC by a margin of 5,343 which was 4.12% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 40.63% in 2018 in this seat.

    In 2013, Pd Ramakant Tiwari of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Ramashankar Singh of INC by a margin of 9,757 votes which was 8.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 36.7% in the seat.

    In the 2008 elections, Ram Garib Kol of BSP won this seat beating Kaushlesh Dwivedi of INC by a margin of 6,387 votes which was 6.9% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 28.09% in the seat.
