    There were a total of 3,56,410 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Sangli Assembly constituency, of which 1,77,693 were male, 1,78,642 female and 75 of the third gender.     Assembly constituency no.282. Sangli comprises of the following areas of Sangli district in the Western region of Maharashtra: Miraj Tehsil (Part) Revenue Circle Sangli, Budhgaon and Sangli-Miraj Kupwad (Municipal Corporation) (Part) – Ward No. 1 to 3, 10 to 25, 38 to 53 and 61 to 69.

    This constituency covers an approximate area of 110.25 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 16°52'55.2"N 74°34'23.9"E.

    A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Sangli constituency, which are: Islampur, Tasgaon - Kavathe Mahankal, Miraj, Shirol. This constituency shares an inter-state border with .

    In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Dhananjay Alias Sudhir Hari Gadgil of BJP won in this constituency beating Prithviraj Gulabrao Patil of INC by a margin of 6,979 votes which was 03.70% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dhananjay Alias Sudhir Dada Hari Gadgil of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Madan Vishwanath Patil of INC by a margin of 14,457 votes which was 7.38% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Sambhaji Hari Pawar of BJP won this seat defeating Madan Vishwanath Patil of INC by a margin of 11,164 votes which was 6.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
