    In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Ranendra Pratap Swain of BJD won in this constituency beating Brajendra Kumar Ray of BJP by a margin of 57,995 votes which was 35.69% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ranendra Pratap Swain of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Bichitrananda Muduli of INC by a margin of 68,487 votes which was 46.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ramesh Rout of IND won this seat defeating Bichitra Nanda Muduli of IND by a margin of 25,510 votes which was 20.26% of the total votes polled for the seat.
