    In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Minakshi Mahanta of BJD won in this constituency beating Murali Manohar Sharma of BJP by a margin of 26,408 votes which was 15.64% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Sanatan Mahakud of IND was the winner in this seat beating Kusha Apat of IND by a margin of 14,678 votes which was 9.39% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jitu Patnaik of IND won this seat defeating Sanatan Mahakud of INC by a margin of 145 votes which was 0.12% of the total votes polled for the seat.
