    In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Surjya Narayan Patro of BJD won in this constituency beating Pinky Pradhan of BJP by a margin of 40,452 votes which was 29.48% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Surjya Narayan Patro of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Saka Sujit Kumar of INC by a margin of 45,897 votes which was 35.73% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Surya Narayana Patro of BJD won this seat defeating V Rabi Narayan Raju of INC by a margin of 32,763 votes which was 31.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
