    In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Aswini Kumar Patra of BJD won in this constituency beating Jaynarayan Mohanty of BJP by a margin of 35,443 votes which was 20.07% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Aswini Kumar Patra of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Debiprasanna Chand of INC by a margin of 33,860 votes which was 20.55% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Debi Prasanna Chand of INC won this seat defeating Aswini Kumar Patra of BJP by a margin of 6,304 votes which was 4.33% of the total votes polled for the seat.
