In 2014, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Bijoy Mohapatra of BJP by a margin of 23,246 votes which was 13.66% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak of BJD won this seat defeating Balaram Parida of INC by a margin of 19,595 votes which was 13.55% of the total votes polled for the seat.
