In 2014, Pradip Purohit of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Bijaya Ranjan Singha Bariha of BJD by a margin of 4,513 votes which was 2.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha of BJD won this seat defeating Satya Bhusan Sahu of INC by a margin of 18,066 votes which was 11.75% of the total votes polled for the seat.
