In 2014, Mahesh Sahoo of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Ashok Mohanty of BJP by a margin of 5,294 votes which was 4.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Rabi Narayan Pani of BJD won this seat defeating Dharmendra Pradhan of BJP by a margin of 5,467 votes which was 5.06% of the total votes polled for the seat.
