In 2014, Raseswari Panigrahi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Jayanarayan Mishra of BJP by a margin of 9,958 votes which was 8.8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jayanarayan Mishra of BJP won this seat defeating Sureswar Mishra of INC by a margin of 7,010 votes which was 8.94% of the total votes polled for the seat.
