    In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Umakanta Samantaray of BJD won in this constituency beating Om Prakash Mishra of BJP by a margin of 17,812 votes which was 11.38% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Umakanta Samantray of IND was the winner in this seat beating Rama Ranjan Baliarsingh of BJD by a margin of 1,532 votes which was 1.06% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Prasad Kumar Harichandan of INC won this seat defeating Umakanta Samantaray of BJD by a margin of 8,280 votes which was 6.56% of the total votes polled for the seat.
