    In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Niranjan Pujari of BJD won in this constituency beating Ashok Kumar Pujari of BJP by a margin of 25,726 votes which was 12.67% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Niranjan Pujari of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Pramod Kumar Mahapatra of BJP by a margin of 51,485 votes which was 28.46% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Niranjan Pujari of BJD won this seat defeating Naba Krushna Danta of BJP by a margin of 28,307 votes which was 17.73% of the total votes polled for the seat.
