In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 11,649 registered voters, of which 6,153 were male, 5,510 female and 0 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 10,073 registered voters in this constituency, of which 5,335 were male, 4,738 female and 0 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 8,143 which included 4,357 male, and 3,786 female.

    In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Kunga Nima Lepcha of SKM won in this constituency beating Pintso Chopel of SDF by a margin of 888 votes which was 11.96% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pintso Chopel of SKM was the winner in this seat beating Hishey Lachungpa of SDF by a margin of 1,891 votes which was 27.54% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dorjee Namgyal Bhutia of SDF won this seat defeating Tshering Gyatso Kaleon of INC by a margin of 1,578 votes which was 27.53% of the total votes polled for the seat.
