According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 59.21%, while it was 62.09% in 2016, and 70.02% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Amman K Arjunan of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Shanmugasundaram V M of DMK by a margin of 4001 votes which was 1.99% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Arun Kumar, P.R.G. of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating S.Meenalogu of DMK by a margin of 7724 votes which was 4.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Malaravan T. of AIADMK won this seat defeating Veeragopal M. of DMK by a margin of 40098 votes which was 25.82% of the total votes polled for the seat.
