    In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Dnv Senthilkumar S of DMK won in this seat defeating Anbumani Ramadoss of PMK by a margin of 70,753 votes which was 5.78% of the total votes cast for the seat. DMK had a vote share of 46.96% in 2019 in this seat.

    In 2014, Anbumani Ramadoss of PMK emerged victorious in this seat beating MohanPS of AIADMK by a margin of 77,146 votes which was 7% of the total votes polled in the constituency. PMK secured a vote share of 42.51% in the seat.
