    In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Pon Jayaseelan of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Kasilingam S of DMK by a margin of 1945 votes which was 1.42% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Thiravidamani,M. of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Kalaiselvan, S. of AIADMK by a margin of 13379 votes which was 10.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Thiravidamani.M of DMK won this seat defeating Selvaraj.S of DMDK by a margin of 27374 votes which was 24.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
