In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Saraswathi C of BJP won in this constituency beating Subbulakshmi Jegadeesan of DMK by a margin of 281 votes which was 0.16% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sivasubramani , V.P. of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Sachidanandam, P. of DMK by a margin of 2222 votes which was 1.26% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Kittusamy R.N of AIADMK won this seat defeating Palanisami R.M of INC by a margin of 40162 votes which was 26.23% of the total votes polled for the seat.
