According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 77.34%, while it was 77.74% in 2016, and 80.1% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Pollachi V Jayaraman of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Dr Varadharajan K of DMK by a margin of 1725 votes which was 0.98% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Pollachi V Jayaraman of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Tamilmani, R. of DMK by a margin of 13368 votes which was 7.93% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Muthukaruppannasamy M K of AIADMK won this seat defeating Nithyanandhan. K of KNMK by a margin of 30308 votes which was 21.38% of the total votes polled for the seat.
