Sulur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Coimbatore district in the West region of Tamil Nadu: Palladam Taluk (Part) Paduvampalli, Kaduvettipalayam, Giddampalayam, Semmandampalayam, Kaniyur, Arasur, Nilambur, Mylampatti, Irugur, Rasipalayam, K.Madapur, Kadampadi, Appanaickenpatti, Kalangal, Peedampalli, Pattanam, Kallapalayam, Pappampatti, Edayampalayam, Sellakkarichal, Vadambacheri, Varapatti, Vadavalli, Bogampatti, Pachapalayam, Poorandampalayam, Kumarapalayam, Vadavedampatti, Kammalapatti, Jallipatti, Senjeripudur, Senjeri Ayyampalayam, Malappalayam, Thalakkarai and J.Krishnapuram villages. Moppiripalayam (TP), Karumathampatti (TP), Irugur (TP), Samalapuram (TP), Kangayampalayam (CT), Sulur (TP), Pallapalayam (TP) and Kannampalayam (TP)

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Kandasamy V P of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Premier Selvam alias Kalichamy M of DMK by a margin of 31932 votes which was 13.36% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Kanagaraj, R. of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Manoharan, V.M.C. of INC by a margin of 36631 votes which was 17.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Thinakaran K of DMDK won this seat defeating Eswaran E R of KNMK by a margin of 29532 votes which was 17.41% of the total votes polled for the seat.
